How it works

You direct. The agent does the keyframes.

    Describe the video

Places, years, the order of the story, the frame size. Attach your photos, voice-over or music and the agent puts them on the timeline.

The agent finds the places, draws borders and routes, plans every camera move and times the labels. Then it watches its own frames and fixes what’s off before it hands over.

A real editor underneath

Every move stays yours to change.

The agent works in a real timeline editor, the same one you get. Every shot, route and label it adds is a layer you can grab: reframe a shot, drag a label, retime the camera. The next take starts from your changes, not from scratch.

  • 3D terrain, globe or flatTilt over real elevation, or pull back to a spinning globe.
  • Routes on the real lineRoads, railways and trails from OpenStreetMap that draw themselves in time.
  • Labels with photos and numbersNames, years, heights and photos, pinned to the map as it moves.
  • Borders and areasCountries, regions, lakes and parks, highlighted or cut out.
  • Your voice-over and musicUpload audio; the agent lines the shots up with it.
  • MP4 straight from the browserVertical, square, 4:5 or widescreen. Nothing to install.

FAQ

Questions

Do I need After Effects or a plugin?

No. Maptake runs in your browser and exports MP4 directly. There is nothing to install.

What can the agent put in a video?

Everything the editor can do: camera moves over a 3D map, borders and areas, routes along real roads and trails, labels with photos and numbers, your audio, and the look of the map. It doesn’t generate footage or voices; bring your own recording.

What if the agent gets something wrong?

Comment on the moment and ask for another take, or fix it yourself in the editor. A take only replaces your project when it finishes. If you stop it, or it fails, your project stays exactly as it was.

Where does the map data come from?

OpenStreetMap and Natural Earth, on map tiles from Protomaps, with satellite imagery from Esri. Every video carries the credit line these sources ask for.

Which languages does Maptake speak?

The app is in English, Vietnamese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Thai and Indonesian.
